From Place to Practice: Midheaven’s Evolution into Sacred Containers

When Danielle and I founded Midheaven in 2023, we had a vision of transforming our 12-acre Vermont farm into a physical sanctuary for spiritual healing, art, and music. That vision sustained us through our darkest moments and gave us something beautiful to build toward. But as we’ve grown into our work, we’ve discovered something profound: the real sanctuary was never the place—it was the practice of creating sacred space wherever healing is needed.

Following the Call

Over the past two years, we’ve watched our work evolve beyond what we initially imagined, and now find ourselves moving beyond attachments to a specific location for a sanctuary, and into bringing that sanctuary with us. The land will always be part of our story. Vermont’s values of community, sustainability, and authentic living are woven into everything we do. But we’ve come to understand that Midheaven isn’t meant to be a destination people journey to—it’s meant to be medicine that is brought to the people, organizations, and communities that need it.

Sacred Containers, Not Sacred Places

Instead of building a center that people visit, we’re developing practices that create temporary sanctuaries wherever they’re needed. Whether that’s a one-on-one integration session in someone’s living room, a healing circle in a community space, or organizational work with mission-driven groups, we’re learning to trust that sacred space emerges through intention and presence, not architecture.

I call these “sacred containers”—intentionally held spaces for transformation that honor both the work being done and the people doing it. These containers can be small and intimate or large and communal, brief encounters or extended journeys. What makes them sacred isn’t their location, but the quality of attention and care we bring to them.

Integration Sessions: A New Offering

As part of this evolution, I’m now offering one-on-one spiritual guidance and integration sessions. This work draws from my lived experience with trauma healing, plant medicine integration, spiritual awakening, and the kind of deep transformation that happens when life breaks us open and calls us to remember who we really are.

These sessions are for people integrating peak experiences, ceremony work, major life transitions, or simply feeling called to deeper alignment with their authentic selves. We work at the pace of nervous system truth, translating insights into sustainable practices that can hold you through whatever comes next.

This isn’t therapy or clinical work—it’s companionship for the spiritual journey. I offer this because I’ve walked these territories myself: the breakdown that becomes breakthrough, the long integration of spiritual opening, the challenge of living authentically in a world that often rewards performance over presence.

Why Now?

The world is asking for different kinds of healing than it was even two years ago. People are experiencing spiritual emergencies, meaning-making crises, and deep questions about how to live with integrity in chaotic times. Many are integrating profound experiences—whether from plant medicines, meditation retreats, life crises, or simply the ongoing initiation of being alive right now—and finding little support for the real work of integration.

Traditional therapy often can’t hold the spiritual dimensions of these experiences. Weekend workshops provide insight but little ongoing support. What’s needed is companionship from someone who understands these territories not just intellectually, but experientially.

The Medicine We Need

We’re still committed to healing, creativity, and authentic community. But we’re learning to trust that the medicine we have to offer doesn’t require people to come to us. It asks us to show up where the healing is needed, creating containers strong enough to hold whatever wants to emerge.

This feels like coming home to something we always knew but couldn’t yet articulate. The real work has always been about developing the capacity to create sacred space wherever we are, with whoever shows up, for whatever healing wants to happen.

If you’re feeling called to this work, we’re here. The container is ready, wherever you are.
